Established in 1985, the Cooperative Association of Resort Exchangers, (CARE) is one of the timeshare industry’s most active trade associations. It was formed to allow resorts to provide additional services to their vacation owners whose needs were not being satisfied by the major exchange companies. By exchanging vacation inventory among themselves, they were better able to satisfy their owners with increased vacation opportunities.

Through CARE membership, those who possess inventory or seek inventory for fulfillment have the ability to share inventory via week-to-week exchanges, weekly wholesale rentals, guaranteed and free-sale blocks as well as year-round and seasonal leases.  As a result, members are able to  improve the client experience by securing vacations, increase inventory utilization, generate revenue through wholesale rentals and heighten yield management.

CARE Today

The CARE of today is not an exchange company. It does not own or control inventory or guarantee fulfillment of travel requests, and/or rental or sale of any type of inventory, service or product. The association simply provides a networking platform that offers the tools for individual business enhancement.

Today, its internationally diverse member base includes resort developers, management companies, exchange organizations, HOA’s, travel clubs and wholesalers. In addition, membership is also open to respected industry suppliers, such as CustomerCount, who bring value-added revenue enhancement opportunities.

CARE members must comply with a strict Code of Standards and Ethics and can gain professional and personal development by attending CARE’s regular conferences. With nominal annual membership fees and some of the industry’s lowest conference registration rates, CARE can prove an undeniable value and return.

CARE member companies currently offer 2,500 vacation properties and service approximately one million vacation owners. The benefits of membership include:
